What are the limitations of the trial version for Cisdem Video Converter for Mac?

Below are the limitations of the trial version:

(1) It can only convert the first 5 minutes of every file, and only half of the file will be processed if a given file is less than 5 minutes. (2) You can only download 3 videos with the trial version.

Can Cisdem Video Converter for Mac rip protected DVD?

Yes. It converts the protected DVD like normal unprotected one without additional actions.

What to do if it fails to convert the videos/DVDs?

Please click Help> Show log in Finder, find the log files under Cisdem Video Converter folder and send them to our support team at support@cisdem.com, we will provide technical support after receiving your emails.

I cannot open the downloaded videos with QuickTime, why?

Apple software is not compatible with Mp4(av01) or Mp4(vp09), so if you want to play the downloaded video files with Apple software, you are suggested to select the output format as Mp4(avc1) instead of Mp4(av01) or Mp4(vp09).

Can I trim the DVD

Yes, just load your DVD into the program, before converting your DVD to a digital file, you can click the pencil icon to get into the Edit window and trim the DVD.

Can I rip a blu-ray DVD?

Yes, Cisdem can rip both blu-ray DVDs and standrad DVDs. Just load your blu-ray DVD into the program, select an output format, click the Start button to start converting.

Can I convert audio file?

Yes, to convert audio file: 1. Drop it to main interface. 2. Click output format icon. 3. Select General Audio, then choose output format in the list. 4. Click Convert button.

Can I preview the video/DVD?

To preview the video/DVD, click the “Play” button on the thumbnail after adding it.

How to capture the snapshot from DVD/video?

After adding a DVD/video to the program, you can click the Play button to preview it. In the video player window you can click the “Snapshot” button to capture snapshot. All of them are saved as .jpg format on this location: ~/Movies/Cisdem Video Converter/Snapshot.

What to do when it gives me this error message “No DVD Detected”?

1. You can add the DVD again. 2. Restart the program, and then load the DVD again. 3. Eject the DVD disc, insert it to your Mac, and then add it to the program.

The quality of the output file is poor. How to improve it?

Improper settings can result bad output quality, so you can tweak it. 1. Choose an appropriate format. 2. Click “Advanced Settings” button to expand the window and show Advanced Settings. 3. Choose Qualities to “High” or “Highest” on both Video and Audio sections.

What to do when it fails to load my video?

1. Please check whether Cisdem Video Converter for Mac supports the video format.

2. Play the video by QuickTime or VLC on Mac, to see whether it is corrupted and can be played normally. 3. If it could be played normally, you can recode the video before adding it to the program.

To recode the video: (1) Play it in QuickTime player. Click File > Export from the top menu on menu bar, and then select output format in the format drop down list. (2) Launch VLC player, click File> Streaming/Exporting Wizard on the menu bar, and then choose Transcode/Save to file option in the popup window. Follow the instructions in the program to complete the recoding process.

Why did the conversion take so long?

1. It is a complex process when converting one format to another, involving compression, expansion, re-encoding, re-compressing etc.

2. Usually it is also related to the performance of Mac.

Where is my converted file?

1. In the location you have selected.

2. The default location path is “~/Movies/Cisdem VideoConverter”. You can click Go > Go to Folder on Finder’s menu, enter the pathname to the popup dialog, and then click Go.

3. Click Check icon behind the video file after conversion, it will bring you to the location of the converted video.

What are the options to do If I get a failure download error message while downloading online video?

To download the online videos successfully, please always make sure you are using the latest version. That is, click Cisdem Video Converter on the top menu> Check for Updates... or you can directly download the latest version using the link below to ensure of it

How to download multiple videos at once?

1. If you want to download videos from a playlist, you can copy and paste the URL of the playlist in the download blank space, then tick the videos you want to download, and click Download button to start processing.

2. If the videos you want to download is not a playlist, you can click the + button at the left lower corner of the program's interface, copy and paste all the URLs in the following blank window, then click Download button to start processing.

How to convert the downloaded video?

After you have downloaded a video, it would be stored in ~/Downloads/CisdemVideoConverter/Downloads. You can follow the pathname to find the video, and then drag-n-drop it to the interface.

You can also click the button at the right-top corner of the interface to open Media Browser. You’ll find the Downloads folder in VIDEO DOWNLOAD section. Select it and then all videos inside will show up. You can drag the video you want to convert and drop it to the interface.

I downloaded m4a file from YouTube, but it cannot be played with Music/iTunes, why?

Cisdem downloads the source video/audio files from YouTube, it is possible that the codec of the source m4a file is not compatible with Music/iTunes, you can convert it to a new M4A file with Cisdem,then it will be able to be played with Music/iTunes.

I had a DVD with multiple audio tracks and subtitles, but there is only one audio track and subtitles with the ripped MP4 file, why?

You are only allowed to select one audio track and subtiles while ripping the DVD, after loading the DVD disc, you can view all the audio tracks and subtitles and select the one you prefer to rip.

I had ripped a DVD with subtitles, why there are no subtitles with the ripped MP4 file?

After loading the DVD disc, the default setting for subtitls is 'No Subtitles', if you want to have subtitles, please select a language that you want.

How to register Cisdem Video Converter for Mac on multiple Macs in my household?

You can choose“License for 5 Macs”. One license can be used on up to 5 Macs.
